In this new century, photonics is widely used in communication, display, storage, sensing, biomedicine and other fundamental research, and therefore has become a shining new star in technology. Our modern lifestyle is advancing at a rapid rate. This lifestyle’s dependence on the internet, enjoyment of colorful multimedia entertainment, abundance of information and demand for high-quality medical care, all rely on the development of photonics technology. Such development not only indicates the living standard of a society, but also benchmarks its economic development. With the development of the photonics system and the optical communication system of the National SOC project and the Image Display Technology Project, photonics technology has become even more important. Photonics technology is an enabling technology and has thus been used expansively.
The goals of this program are:
To educate technicians needed in the photonics industry, in cooperation with the National SOC project and the Image Display Technology Project, which are part of the technological development policy of our country.
To educate technicians of different professional backgrounds, providing them with full knowledge of photonics technologies, upgrading their professional skills in their own technical field and enabling them to apply the knowledge in additional fields.
To educate technicians of different professional backgrounds, and equip them with full knowledge of photonics technologies, strengthening their research capability in the original professional field.
