Study the light extraction efficiency of LED, display, and solar cell devices by adding cavities, texturing, surface roughness or photonic crystals, and by optimizing the structure parameters.
Study fibers, gratings, and waveguide devices in integrated optics and optical communications. In addition, study the system performance of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) coding.
Explore the electromagnetic properties and potential applications of photonic crystals, left-handed materials, and other electromagnetic meta-materials.
